Time to Write

If you want to be a writer then the first thing you should be doing is making time to write. Writing is a craft and like any other craft it needs honing. When I search the forums and the sites where writers bid for work it seems that many of the people there have not bothered to learn how to write a sentence or how to spell. They offer their services at a rate far below that of most freelancers because they see freelance writing as an easy way of making money. I love freelancing but there is no denying that if you are going to do it properly it is hard work.

Unless you work at your writing it won't be worth reading, readers soon know if a writer has no interest in what they are doing because they fail to pick up on their own mistakes. Reading badly written copy full of spelling and grammar mistakes is a pain. If you want to write then you should be prepared to check that your writing is the best that you can make it.
