When the Work Comes In
Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 14:32 Freelancing is one of those areas where you are either bidding hard in order to get some work to pay the bills, or you are simply not properly prepared for when the work comes in. It often happens in the freelancer's world that when the work comes in, it comes at a super fast pace. You need to have some sort of system in place to ensure that you give yourself enough time and space to get the work done.
It is always good for a freelancer to have other freelancing buddies because it often happens that you are overloaded when they are looking for work. When the work comes in too quickly then having such a buddy can make the difference between working at a steady pace and working several ghosters in order to keep up with the work.
A couple of weeks ago I was concerned that there was very little work coming in and so I asked one of my writing buddies if she had any to spare and she did - this helped both of us out at a frustrating time. Generally speaking writers are happy to share their expertise and their extra work so it is well worth spending some time on blogging and in chat rooms if you would like to get yourself a working buddy or two.

Freelancing buddies are great, Sue. You've helped save my bacon a few times - thanks. :)
You're more than welcome Sharon. It was reading your posts on Writingup that got me here in the first place - that more than saved my bacon, especially when I have been low at times, writing is good for the soul.
