Writing For Cash
Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 12:06 One area where you will need a healthy dose of self discipline when you are writing for cash is in sticking to deadlines. Clients want to know when their finished project will be ready, and other than extreme circumstances they don't want to have to wait beyond that date. When you are writing for cash not only do you want the work to be finished on time you also want to deliver . You should always read through your finished work before you despatch it to the client, especially if your budget does not allow for half a dozen rewrites.
Freelance writing can be a lot of fun and it can also provide you with an adequate income providing you are prepargreat writinged to work hard. If freelance writing is your ideal career then you should spend some time studying the subject, there are plenty of good books on the market and numerous websites related to freelancing. When you start out you should be prepared not to make much money to begin with so it is a good idea to have some backup funds when you start. Once clients can see that you offer great writing within their deadlines they will come back for more - writers rely on their reputation and this takes time to build. If you work at your subject and have a little patient it shouldn't be too long before you are out there writing for cash and feeling happy with your lot.

It IS hard work, but it's also very rewarding. I wouldn't change this career for any other.
I agree Sharon, I hope to finish my work at Uni by the end of this year so that I can concentrate on writing full time.
